Farmer's Joy

written by:  Gary Best and Bruce Scism

It's five o'clock in the mornin', I don't wanna get out of bed

Leaves in the beans,  more in the corn, the cattle have to be fed

The barn needs some fixin, the fence is  fallin' down, the sky is
cloudy and gray

The rooster's a-crowin'; coon dogs a-howlin', sometimes I wish I were dead

In town they call me a plowboy, I can't say that it bothers me

I'd rather known as a plowboy. It's somethin' that they make of me,

It's somethin' that they make of me.

I heard about far away places, I saw 'em on T.V.

And I got a wife, 18 years old, and a bank that owns most of me.

I'd like to swim in the ocean, I'd like to sing by the sea

I'll never go there to taste that salt air, It's a farmer's life for me,

It's a farmers life for me.

It's five o'clock in the mornin'...
